Manchester United are one of the clubs credited with an interest in Chelsea star Antonio Rüdiger.

On March 21st, French journalist Ignazio Genuardi reported the Blues defender is the ‘subject of pressure’ from the Red Devils.

Three days later, Bild reported Christian Falk explained the 29-year-old wants to talk to the new Manchester United manager before considering a switch to Old Trafford.

Last week, the English club officially announced Erik ten Hag as their new coach from next season. The centre-back, meanwhile, reportedly received an offer from Manchester United.

This has been reported by two sources in Germany.

On Sunday, Falk took to Twitter to report the Red Devils made an offer that included a net annual salary of €10m. The journalist made these claims before Thomas Tuchel confirmed on Sunday that the Germany international will likely leave Chelsea at the end of this season.

Falk’s claims are further backed up by Sport1 chief reporter Patrick Berger on Monday. He states that Manchester United ‘made the best proposal’ to the former AS Roma man.

Both Falk and Berger are stating that Rüdiger has ‘turned down’ the offer from the Red Devils, ‘out of respect’ for Chelsea, as he doesn’t want to join another Premier League side.

Berger further explained the German is ‘close’ to joining Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer.
