Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembélé is on the agenda of Liverpool, according to today’s edition of Mundo Deportivo.
The winger’s contract expires in 2022 and he’s refused to sign an extension so far. He recently recovered after testing positive for Covid-19 and returned to action in his side’s 2-1 win over Linares in the Copa del Rey clash.
Moussa Sissoko, the 24-year-old’s agent, was critical of Xavi Hernández’s decision to bring on his client in cup competition. He made these comments during an interview with L’Equipe and it’s relayed by Mundo Deportivo.
The French newspaper had also stated the two parties will continue to negotiate for a renewal. If there is no agreement, he will leave Barca as a free agent, but the option to join Paris Saint-Germain was discarded.
Mundo Deportivo have relayed it and then state Jürgen Klopp’s side are in the picture to take the player.
Over at Fichajes.net, they have also echoed claims made by Cadena Ser and provide their own information on this case.
When discussing suitors, the Reds get a mention. It’s claimed Liverpool are one of the clubs to ‘have shown most interest’ in Dembélé.
However, Chelsea seem to be ahead of Klopp’s side in the chase for the France international.
