On November 26th, Goal.com reported Ousmane Dembele had asked Barcelona to allow him leave Camp Nou in January.
Wednesday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo has responded to the above report and they claim the World Cup winner is not looking to leave the La Liga winners in the mid-season transfer window.
This information is confirmed to the Catalan newspaper by ‘two sources’ at the club.
The 21-year-old was in the news for the wrong reasons before the international break and his attitude was questioned, which saw the player’s representative travel to Barcelona to hold talks with the leaders of the Blaugrana.
During the summit, there was no suggestion of the former Borussia Dortmund man leaving the club halfway through the reason.
The report further mentions that after several warnings, the France international remains focused on improving his situation with his current employers.
Dembele scored the late equaliser against Atletico Madrid in his side’s last league tie and now remains focused on winning the confidence of Ernesto Valverde and his teammates.
Even if what was mentioned in Goal’s report was true, it is highly unlikely Barcelona would let the forward leave in January.
