Andre Gomes is happy. He likes Everton, Marco Silva likes him, and the club’s fans quickly grew fond of the Portuguese midfielder.
After a tough time at Barcelona it was just what the footballer needed.
Silva has made it clear that he wants to keep the player beyond the end of his loan, and it’s a natural progression which seems to make sense for everyone involved.
But that won’t stop the rumours, and after Silva’s recent comments, El Gol have pointed out that Valencia and Real Betis are also interested.
It’s explained they’ll face a tough task snatching Gomes away from Everton’s clutches, but both clubs are ‘willing to bid hard’ to make it happen.
So is there anything in it?
The only other report we can find in Spain is from the same El Gol a month ago.
There’s been nothing from the Seville sport media about any Betis interest, and they’re usually well informed.
That’s the same for Valencia and their local sport media. There was a recent article from Deporte Valenciano which stated the club need to sign someone like Gomes, but that meant in the style of play… there wasn’t even a suggestion that getting the Everton player was desired or feasible.
Depending on transfer and wages, there’s a reasonable chance he’d be too much of a financial push for both clubs.
