Girona are very keen on signing Alberto Soro, report El Periodico de Aragon, and Manchester City look their best chance of getting the player.

The 20 year old is currently at Real Zaragoza, where he has a contract until 2022 with a €9m buyout clause.

He’s an attacking midfielder and has made 24 appearances this season for the Spanish second tier side.

Girona are said to be considering making a €2m offer. Eintracht Frankfurt are also said to be keen, although not quite as determined as the Catalans.

And there’s another club who are interested… Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s side have the player’s name ‘underlined in red’.

The €2m isn’t thought to be enough for Zaragoza, so the Manchester club would sign him, presumably for a bit more, and then loan him to their City Football Group partners. That’s what El Periodico de Aragon believe would be the way to ‘facilitate’ the move.

Another factor helping the potential transfer is Soro’s agent, who is none other than Pere Guardiola.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have been following the youngster for a while, but there’s no suggestion they’re about to swoop.
