On Wednesday, we covered a story from the Italian media claiming that Atalanta were interested in Liverpool’s Marko Grujić.
TuttoMercatoWeb were reporting the Serie A side had asked the Premier League club for some ‘information’ about the midfielder, who has spent the past few seasons on loan at Hertha Berlin.
The Serbian still doesn’t seem to be ready to meet Jürgen Klopp’s demands, and it was said Liverpool ‘would tend to be happy’ to allow him to go on another loan.
Well, that’s exactly what Atalanta want, because Corriere dello Sport on Thursday are claiming the Italians ‘have made a bid for Marko Grujić’.
It’s explained ‘the offer is based on a paid loan with an obligation to buy’, while Milan and Benevento are also said to be interested.
There aren’t any details about the fee Atalanta would be willing to pay up front nor what the amount for the future purchase would be.
Following this, we decided to check the local newspaper Corriere di Bergamo, who also have a tidbit on the matter, simply stating there is ‘competition’ from Benevento and Milan, with the first of those two having also made an offer.
So, if you believe both, that’s two clubs who have made a bid for Grujić, and we’ll have to see what comes of this.
