Liverpool’s Marko Grujić impressed during his loan spell at Hertha Berlin last season and he finished the campaign with four goals and two assists in 31 appearances.

The financial problems caused by the Covid-19 crisis saw the Bundesliga side decide not to exercise the option to sign the midfielder on a permanent deal for €20m.

According to TuttoMercato, the 24-year-old’s performances for Hertha Berlin have drawn attention from Atalanta, and they have already started contacts.

It’s claimed the Serie A side ‘asked Liverpool’ for information about signing the Serbia international.

The Merseyside club ‘would tend to be happy’ to allow their player go out on another loan spell in this window.

Grujić has a market value of €15m and the website adds Jürgen Klopp’s side could decide to cash in from his sale.

This suggests Liverpool have not made a firm decision on Grujić, and TMW claim ‘there could be news’ in the next few days.

The report also adds Gian Piero Gasperini’s side are joined by clubs in Germany in chasing the Liverpool owned player. Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen and even Hertha are named as possible candidates for Grujić this summer.
