Pep Guardiola took charge of Manchester City in 2016 and in his first summer transfer window, the English side signed Marlos Moreno from Atlético Nacional.
The forward was immediately loaned out to Spanish club Deportivo La Coruña, which was followed by another loan spell to Girona. He spent the last year at Flamengo on a temporary deal, which expired on December 31st.
Italian website Tutto Mercato Web has an update about the 22-year-old, who is now looking for a new experience.
According to the report, his future now lies in Italy as SPAL and Bologna are the two clubs in the lead to take the winger on loan for the rest of the season.
These two sides view the Colombian as a player with characteristics that are different to what they have with existing players at their disposal.
Having struggled to impress in the last three loan spells, Moreno would be hoping that things would be different this time around, if he is allowed to join either SPAL or Bologna.
Manchester City also need something to work with the player sooner rather than later, otherwise the investment isn’t looking a good one.
