Cenk Tosun to Everton is stuttering forward to actually happening.
Friday saw Turkish reports that Everton directors had travelled to Istanbul, and by the time that was reported in England, the Turkish slant had gone a little more negative. The outcome of the meeting wasn’t great, with Everton said to have offered less than Besiktas were expecting to.
Now there’s news which is more positive. NTVSpor say Tosun is going ‘step by step to Everton’. After further talks, Steve Walsh has told Besiktas Everton agree to pay €25m, and now the finer details of the move are being discussed.
Those details are explained as being around the payment instalments, with now no mention of a sell-on clause, which could be due to an Everton tactic of going in first with a lower offer.
Tosun had originally planned to go on holiday to Dubai before his Everton transfer, but that plan has now changed… he travelled to London today.
Haber Turk say Tosun flew to London at 17.30 with his wife. It’s initially a holiday, but Sporx believe he’ll travel to Liverpool once the clubs agree everything.
