Idrissa Gueye to PSG is back in the rumour mill.
On Thursday afternoon, Le10 Sport claim an exclusive. It’s explained that in the past few days, the idea of signing the Everton player has returned to the agenda of the Ligue 1 champions.
They’d tried to get him during the January transfer window and there was an arrogance around PSG, or at least in the media close to them, that Everton would sooner or later cave in and agree a sale for less than they’d originally wanted.
The Toffees were having none of it, and Thomas Tuchel was left without the signing he’d been targeting.
Le10 Sport say Tuchel ‘will openly push’ to sign Gueye this summer, although there may be some delay. Things are moving slowly in Paris right now, and it’s thought the club will imminently change sporting directors.
The midfielder is said to still favour a move to PSG, and it’s believed Everton would sell for €30-35m. That initially seems on the low side, but Gueye turns 30 years of age in September, which would have some impact on valuation.
