Chelsea were offered Paris Saint Germain defender Thilo Kehrer this summer but didn’t show any interest in a deal.
That’s according to SportBILD journalist Christian Falk, who instead says that talks are instead ongoing for teammate Presnel Kimpembe.
Chelsea are desperately scouring the market for defenders this summer after losing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen. There is also still a possibility that they will lose Cesar Azpilicueta to Barcelona.
They’ve signed Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli but still want another addition and have been linked with various defenders around Europe.
Both Kehrer and Kimpembe have been linked having worked with Thomas Tuchel during his time at PSG but it seems there is only interest in one of the pair.
Falk reports that Kehrer ‘was offered’ to Chelsea but they showed ‘no interest’ in a deal for the 26-year-old.
The same cannot be said of Kimpembe, who the journalist says has been given ‘priority’ status in the search for a new centre-back.
Negotiations between Chelsea and PSG ‘are ongoing’ over a deal, although he doesn’t mention a transfer fee or anything of that nature. Either way, it seems Tuchel is shopping at his former club after all.
