Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud has warned people not to underestimate Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel ahead of the Champions League final with Manchester City.
Tuchel is set to take on Pep Guardiola and his team later this month after seeing off Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the competition.
Last week saw the two sides play out something of a dress rehearsal ahead of the European showpiece, with them meeting at the Etihad in the Premier League.
Chelsea came out on top in that clash, coming back from a goal down to secure a 2-1 win courtesy of goals from Hakim Ziyech and Marcos Alonso.
That result has only added more intrigue to the Champions League final, with those who were certain about Manchester City now doubting somewhat.
That change is largely due to Tuchel, and Dahoud warns he shouldn’t be underestimated by those comparing him with Guardiola.
“Chelsea played very well against Real. Respect! Everything is open,” he told Sport 1.
“Thomas Tuchel simply cannot and mustn’t be underestimated. You can already see his fingerprints at Chelsea in a short time.
“He’s a really good coach and always has a plan. But Pep also has a plan. Two very strong teams will meet. But I think Manchester City will win in the end.
“They are the best team in Europe at the moment. We felt that in the direct duel. Brutally efficient. City’s quality is still a bit higher; the team has been playing together in this group for a bit longer.”
