Manchester City are set to face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

Pep Guardiola’s side lead Group G on ten points and have already qualified for the knockouts, but they still haven’t secured first place in the group and will be wanting to swat BVB aside.

Having won the first match 2-1, Manchester City will be confident, especially given that Dortmund aren’t having a great season domestically.

Manager Edin Terzic will be aware that a victory over Guardiola would be a huge boost for himself and his squad, as criticism has been building in recent weeks. A 5-0 win over VfB Stuttgart at the weekend has obviously helped, but it’s not quite as impressive as success over Manchester City would be.

Ruhr Nachrichten, BVB’s local newspaper, reports a ‘trio was absent from training’ for the club on Monday, in their final session ahead of the match.

Donyell Malen has a cold, Marco Reus has ankle problems and Raphael Guerreiro is dealing with muscle issues.

In training, but not absolutely fit, were Nico Schlotterbeck and Mats Hummels, with the pair suffering from a calf issue and an unspecified muscle problem respectively.

There are ‘question marks’ over all five.
