It’s been nearly two months since the Catalan media first reported that Manchester United reached an agreement for the signing of Marc Jurado from Barcelona.
In early May, newspaper Sport claimed that despite extensive negotiations for the youngster’s renewal with the Camp Nou side, he’d decided to ‘take the English adventure’ and join the Premier League club.
There was some disappointment, with it being thought that Jurado could have been an option for the club in the future.
Now as announced by the player himself, his cycle at Barça has come to an end. The 16-year-old has released a farewell statement confirming he’s leaving the Catalan side, thanking the club and his teammates.
When reporting the news today, Sport journalist Albert Rogé reaffirms that the player is leaving the Camp Nou to join Manchester United.
He says the right-back will ‘play next season at Manchester United’, even though the Red Devils’ plans for him are still unclear.
Jurado is only turning 17 years of age in February 2021, so it looks unlikely he’d even get a loan so soon, and an adaptation at Carrington’s academy makes more sense.
