What once looked like a done deal has been dragging on far longer than it should have, as Leicester City are forced to wait for the arrival of Stefano Sensi.

Wanted by Enzo Maresca to bolster his midfield, the Inter Milan player first had to go to Riyadh with his team to be part of the squad for the Italian Supercup, which Simone Inzaghi’s side won 1-0.

That should have allowed to pave the way for the player’s move to Leicester City, but Gazzetta dello Sport now explain that the transfer to the King Power Stadium could be delayed by another week.

In fact, there is a strong chance that will be the case, because despite Sensi being ‘promised’ to the Foxes, he could now be kept ‘until Monday’.

That’s because neither Nicolo Barrella nor Hakan Calhanoglu will be available for the game against Fiorentina at the weekend, meaning there is only Davy Klaassen to pick from alongside Davide Frattesi, Kristjan Asllani and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

In short, Gazzetta reckon the Leicester City target could end up on the bench in the next league game and then ‘take off’ to join Enzo Maresca in the Championship.
