First picked up by Corriere dello Sport, Mousa Dembélé to Inter has also travelled over to Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday.
The Italian newspaper cover Piero Ausilio’s trip to London on Wednesday, including the Inter director of football’s chat with Spurs board members, even if the Serie A club refused to describe the talks as ‘negotiations’.
Gazzetta believe the discussions were informal, but that Dembélé was the centre of attention, as he’s one of the players Luciano Spalletti would love to see at San Siro next season.
The idea here would be to ensure Inter are in ‘pole position’ should Tottenham decide to sell the Belgium international.
However, with the all the uncertainties surrounding Mauricio Pochettino’s future, selling players could be put on hold until the club knows exactly who will be leading Spurs into the 2018-19 season.
While this is all very sensible reporting by the Italian newspaper, their friends over at Corriere dello Sport believe everything is a bit more advanced, as Dembélé edges ‘closer’ to Inter.
The problems remain the same as outlined in Gazzetta’s report, but the fact Javier Zanetti has endorsed the links during a MasterCard event has got everyone very excited.
The belief is that Dembélé is open to an Inter move, as reported on Thursday, and now it’s up to the two clubs to figure something out before this goes any further.
