Joining Nicolas Pepe in the ‘exciting players to watch in France’ is Jonathan Bamba, as the pair have formed one of the deadliest attacking duos in Ligue 1 this season.
The Lille wingers have found the back of the net 13 times between them, which is second only to Neymar and Kylian Mbappé, who have 16.
That’s why scouts from all over Europe are flocking to watch them, including one from Tottenham.
This nugget of information was brought to us by France Football on Tuesday, who explain representatives from Barcelona, Juventus and Tottenham have all been spotted at Stade Pierre-Mauroy recently to watch Christophe Galtier’s new look team.
Who each team was specifically watching isn’t made clear, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if they had made the trip just to see what the attack, including attacking midfielder Jonathan Ikoné, has to offer as a whole.
Considering Bamba and Ikoné have just arrived, a January exit is highly unlikely, and the same applies for Nicolas Pépé, who made it clear in a recent interview that he wanted to finish the season with Lille.
For Tottenham, this means they’ll have to wait until next summer if they fancy testing Gérard Lopez’s and Luis Campos’ resolve.
