If Sky Italia are correct, Tottenham have submitted a ridiculous, but ‘concrete’, offer for Andrea Belotti.
The 26 year old is the leader of Torino. He’s their captain, adored by fans and the local media. He’s scored 17 goals in each of the past two seasons, and helped them stay clear of the relegation zone in the last campaign.
According to the claims, Tottenham have offered to loan him. Spurs requested a deal which would see them take the player on a temporary basis, and have the opportunity to sign him permanently for €50m.
That €50m figure doesn’t really mean anything, given that even if he did well there’s a good chance Tottenham would try to drag the amount down. If he didn’t do enough to warrant being signed fully, Spurs could just send him back slightly soiled to Torino.
Unsurprisingly, Sky Italia report the offer has been refused.
Torino have no intention to loan Belotti out, and will only sell him on a permanent transfer if the offer is too good to refuse.
Daniel Levy will need to come up with a much better deal if he’s to convince the Serie A club.
