Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte could make a decision to return to Inter Milan, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
The Italian’s contract at the north London club expires in June and the latter have an option to extend it until 2024.
Following Conte’s outburst after Tottenham’s 3-3 draw against Southampton last weekend, there have been claims in Italy that Spurs could sack him during the ongoing international break.
That hasn’t happened so far, but Conte is unlikely to be in charge of the Premier League side next season.
TMW state the former Chelsea coach is close to saying goodbye to Tottenham and could return to the San Siro, where he managed for two seasons between 2019 and 2021.
Inter last won their title under Conte’s orders during the 2020/21 season. It’s claimed the Italian would be willing to make ‘heavy financial sacrifices’ to resume the tasks ‘left unfinished’ when he decided to leave them in the summer of 2021.
Simone Inzaghi is currently in charge at Inter and his future there could be in doubt if Conte is keen to return to the San Siro.
