In the past 24 hours, we’ve been following the explosion of rumours linking Tottenham Hotspur to Paulo Dybala, who adds to Giovanni Lo Celso on the list of Argentines wanted by the club.
And besides negotiating for the Juventus and the Real Betis players, the Spurs could have a third target, according to reports from Italy today.
Website Calcio Mercato says Mauricio Pocchetino’s side are also keeping an eye on Ajax’s David Neres in case the negotiations for the other two guys collapse.
It’s claimed that Spurs would be planning to beat Everton’s €50m offer for the Brazilian by making a bid of €60m.
That’s the same amount they’ve been offering for Lo Celso according to Calciomercato, while it’s said the Spanish side keep demanding €80m for the midfielder.
There a few issues with these claims. In Spain, it’s being insisted Tottenham haven’t gone higher than €50m for Lo Celso, and whilst Everton interest has been reported in Neres there’s no concrete claims of a €50m offer.
Several reports from Brazil have been saying that Neres is very close to signing a new deal with Ajax, which would frustrate São Paulo’s plans of getting a percentage of a transfer.
Neres, Dybala and Lo Celso all have different characteristics as footballers, so it wouldn’t make sense for one to be an alternative for another.
