Tottenham’s focus may be on big money incomings on deadline day as they try to tie up deals for Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon, but they continue to keep an eye on the future.
Spurs are always looking to build for the future, and it seems they are intent on signing one of their hottest prospects this summer.
Japhet Manzambi Tanganga made 21 appearances in the Premier League 2 last season, as well as three appearances in the EFL Trophy.
It’s safe to assume he impressed in those games, given Mauricio Pochettino handed him a place in his squad for pre-season this summer.
The England U20 international featured in friendlies against Juventus, Manchester United and Real Madrid, further impressing Pochettino.
So much so, Tuttomercatoweb are now reporting that Spurs are working on a contract renewal for the 20-year-old.
There is no mention of how long a deal Tottenham are offering the youngster, just that they want to offer him a new deal.
After his performance in pre-season, it seems Spurs are keen to get him signed to a bigger deal than the one year contract he signed back in June.
