So far, Wednesday has been a bit short on updates regarding Tottenham and Takehiro Tomiyasu from the Bologna based newspapers.
However, those in Bergamo, where Atalanta are based, have a little bit on the matter, namely stating the fact Gian Piero Gasperini’s side are pulling out of the race.
The Serie A side have been the main competition for Spurs in the race to sign the Japan international, but it appears the auction has simply gone too high now.
L’Eco Di Bergamo are the ones providing the update, claiming that Tottenham ‘seem to now have won the duel’ with Atalanta for Tomiyasu for €20m or so (it’ll be a bit more).
Not only that, but Tomiyasu is ‘convinced’ of transferring to England, which echoes previous reports that he is keen to try his hand at Premier League football going forward.
There still needs to be an agreement between Bologna and Spurs, however, but that hasn’t been found as of yet.
