For the past few weeks, claims from Turkey have insisted Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Victor Nelsson in this window. Wolverhampton Wanderers are also in the mix as Takvim reported last week that Galatasaray turned down their €15m bid for the defender.
It was also explained that the Turkish club had referred to the centre-back’s €25m release clause.
This is highlighted by Ekstra Bladet when explaining the interest shown by both Tottenham and Wolves in the 24-year-old.
After two seasons in Istanbul, the player is ready for a new challenge. It’s said he favours a move to the Premier League, where Spurs and Julen Loptegui’s side are ‘fighting’ to secure his services.
The report states the Denmark international prefers to join Tottenham, but they aren’t willing to meet Galatasaray’s €25m demand.
Wolves, on the other hand, have an ‘urgent’ need to sign a new centre-back after Nathan Collins moved to Brentford. This is obviously where Nelsson would fit in.
Even though Ekstra Bladet claim Nelsson’s ‘future is in the Premier League’, they state the transfer negotiations could be ‘prolonged’ before a conclusion is reached.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray vice-president Erden Timur has admitted receiving offers for the Dane.
“There are concrete offers for our players. There are offers for Nelsson, Zaniolo, Sacha Boey, Cicaldau, Morutan, Kerem, Yunus, Barış, Taylan, Emre, Emin Bayram and Berkan,” he said, as quoted by A Spor.
“Fortunately, we have a good squad. There are also offers for our local football players from beautiful leagues in Europe. Whoever goes, they have very good alternatives.”
