Loaned out by Hellas Verona for the year to Udinese, Destiny Udogie will be purchased by the Pozzo family owned club for £3.6m.
What happens after that, however, remains a mystery, because the Serie A side then have the opportunity to either keep him around or sell him on for a profit.
We say this, because it appears Tottenham are taking an interest in the 19-year-old, as the club, and maybe even Antonio Conte, plan for the future.
This is what Corriere dello Sport are reporting on Monday, explaining that Udogie’s entourage ‘will have a meeting with the owner Gino Pozzo this week’.
The reason for this is they have received ‘two offers from France and enquiries from the Premier League, with Tottenham at the window’.
However, Udinese have ‘been clear’, as they will ‘only offers of €20m will be evaluated’.
This means Tottenham know what they need to do if they want to sign the Italy U21 international, who scored five goals and assisted another three in 35 Serie A appearances this season.
