Cedric Bakambu has been the subject of transfer rumours for some time, with the striker repeatedly linked with a move to the Premier League.

With 12 goals so far this season for Villarreal, Bakambu is seen as a player several English clubs are keen on, and Mundo Deportivo say Tottenham and West Ham seem to be the ones following him most closely.

There’s also interest in the player from China, according to the Spanish newspaper, and that could see his potential price rise beyond sense.

West Ham always seem to be on the look out for a striker, and the European media continually believe Tottenham need back-up for Harry Kane, despite Mauricio Pochettino signing Fernando Llorente during the summer transfer window.

The idea of a transfer is being talked up, as has happened repeatedly in recent months, but Mundo Deportivo point out Villarreal are well protected by a €50m buyout clause.

It’s got to be unlikely either West Ham or Tottenham would pay that for the 26 year old, even if their interest is as genuine as presented.
