Tottenham Hotspur sent officials to Denmark to closely follow FC Midtjylland’s clash against Brøndby IF at the weekend.
That’s according to Tipsbladet, who state scouts from a few clubs were in attendance at the MCH Arena and this includes Tottenham and Bayern Munich.
The report didn’t mention the details of the players that Tottenham or the Bavarian club were monitoring, but they did say they are ‘scouting stars’.
Yuito Suzuki and Nicolai Vallys have impressed for Brøndby, and the duo’s displays have caught the attention of other clubs.
The 22-year-old Japanese forward has managed 20 goals and 18 assists, while 27-year-old attacking midfielder has 11 goals and eight assists this season. Suzuki assisted Vallys’ goal in their side’s 3-2 defeat against Midtjylland on Sunday.
Midtjylland also have promising names like Darío Osorio [20], Franculino [19] and Oliver Sørensen [22], while Mads Bech Sørensen and Cho Gue-sung have also received interest from elsewhere. Osorio and Franculino got their names on the scoresheet in the win at the weekend.
Tipsbladet point out Tottenham didn’t focus on promising talents under Antonio Conte and José Mourinho, and that seems to have changed under Ange Postecoglou.
The north London club’s Danish director, Johan Lange, is very likely another reason they are looking at Denmark for potential signings.
