Tottenham welcome Borussia Dortmund to Wembley on Thursday evening, but it won’t be a full strength team for the Bundesliga side.

There’s been injury worries around several players and as the plane took off for London on Tuesday morning, those who are absolutely out were confirmed.

Ruhr Nachrichten reports Marco Reus is out with a small muscle tear, Julian Weigl is out with a flu type infection, Paco Alcacer is missing due to shoulder problems and Lukasz Piszczek has heel problems.

Michael Zorc is quoted as saying: “These are players we will really miss.”

Weigl’s absence is particularly interesting given Borussia Dortmund manager Lucien Favre was absent from training on Sunday, having to stay in bed with the same issue. It’s conceivable other players may pick up the infection to some degree.

On top of all that, Abdou Diallo and Jadon Sancho forget their passports and arrived at the airport to travel without the documents. They both had to go home to get them, and the England international arrived late, delaying the plane which was taking the Dortmund squad.

It’s not really starting very well for BVB on their Tottenham adventure.
