Inter Milan really, really, really want a new right-winger, and with Antonio Candreva seemingly favouring a move to England, they’ve turned to other options.
The two main targets for the club seem to be Santos’ Gabriel Jesus and Tottenham’s Argentinean winger, with the prospect of Juan Cuadrado being put on hold until they have a definitive answer regarding the Brazilian prodigy.
Corriere dello Sport on Monday claim that Roberto Mancini is expected to meet both the club’s president Erick Thohir and CEO Michael Bolingbroke to discuss transfers, and the subject of Erik Lamela is expected to be addressed.
The Argentina international could be the ‘big transfer’ the club requests to their new Chinese owners for this summer as Tottenham don’t exactly want to part with their winger.
The Italian newspaper also hints that Erik Lamela might be interested regarding a move back to Serie A after Inter sent Javier Zanetti to have a chat with him during the Copa America.
As they put it, he hasn’t ‘closed the door’.
Tottenham are trying to force it shut, though, while Inter Milan are hoping the player will act as a doorstop until the scheduled meeting.
It seems we’ll have an answer next week, then.
