With clubs now having time to prepare for the summer market, there are some plans that aren’t exactly new, but are now back to being reported.

Inter Milan’s interest in signing Tottenham’s Erik Lamela has been in the Italian media for quite a few months now, and the Serie A side could be ready for a new attempt in the summer.

There’s already been ‘several contacts with his agents’, the most recent over the past few weeks.

As reported by Calcio Mercato today, the club is planning the signing for the next window in case they qualify for the Champions League. They just need to sort out their budget because some money will be spent on loans that will become permanent by then, and Lamela wouldn’t be a cheap player.

There are a few factors that Inter are said to be counting on to get the signing easily. First is that Lamela has been full of ups and downs in London, and as he still likes Italy, that could be a place for him to ‘relaunch’ his career.

The Nerazzurri would also use the help of Walter Sabatini, who was the man who brought Lamela from River Plate to Roma and then sold him to Tottenham. Now at Inter, he could handle things nicely once again.

But Calcio Mercato still doesn’t say how much Spurs would demand for the player, and that could be quite an important thing to consider.
