Bought from 1. FC Kaiserslautern in 2017, Robin Koch has been a regular figure in SC Freiburg’s defence. He has 24 starts to his name in the league this season.

The 23-year-old is drawing attention from clubs across Europe, according to Area Napoli.

From the Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur are looking at the centre-back as the report adds Spurs and an unnamed English club ‘took an interest’ in Koch.

Napoli view the Germany international as a potential successor for Kalidou Koulibaly, if the latter were to leave the Serie A side. Borussia Dortmund are also after him.

RB Leipzig came up with an offer of €15m plus bonuses to beat competition for Koch. However, Freiburg are asking for €20m to sanction the player’s sale.

Although José Mourinho’s side are interested in the defender, it will be difficult for the north London club to acquire his services.

That’s because those close to the Freiburg man are claiming he would like to continue in the Bundesliga. Koch has ambitions to join a top club in Germany, who ‘would guarantee’ regular playing time so that he can improve his chances of cementing a place in the national team.
