Tottenham’s Harry Kane has been discussed by Bayern Munich, but he is no longer a target this summer.
That’s according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenburg, who says things could change next summer.
Bayern could be on the hunt for a new leading striker this summer if Robert Lewandowski departs the Allianz before the end of the window.
He’s been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona and wants a transfer after his relationship with the club soured amid failed contract negotiations.
Bayern had been linked with Kane as a result, and Plettenburg confirms that the German giants ‘have discussed him’.
However, he’s no longer a topic this summer.
That could change in 2023, when Kane will be in the final year of his contract at Tottenham, opening up the possibility of a deal.
Presumably, his future will be determined by how Tottenham do next season, with many predicting big things after they secured Champions League football last season and spent big strengthening the squad this summer.
Another strong campaign, and it’s likely Kane will want to extend his stay at the club further.
Disappointment, though, could lead to him looking to move again, and if so, Bayern may be waiting in the wings.
Update #Kane: Bayern bosses have discussed him in this transfer period due to his qualities but he’s no longer a topic this summer. Things could change in 2023. Kane‘s management is relaxed. Been told they are not discussing any options for next year at this stage. @SkySportDE 🏴
