If there is anyone who knows fully the pressure of being a Danish wonder kid, and the weight of the expectation of an entire country, then that man is Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen.
Weighed down for years and the star man constantly looked to, Eriksen may have someone who can now take some of that weight away.
The Danish media are getting very excited indeed about 19 year old Kasper Dolberg.
Kasper Dolberg hype in Denmark is massive. Few days worth of coverage from just BT and Ekstra Bladet. No pressure then. (1 of 2) pic.twitter.com/fRqz9Mpf4p

The Ajax forward is dominating the Danish sport media, leaving Eriksen and others filling in the gaps. If he can fulfil just a little bit of the hype on his international debut then Eriksen will be relieved, and Dolberg will be elevated to Lionel Messi status in Denmark.
Eriksen has obviously been asked to comment on Dolberg mania, and the Tottenham player is quoted by Tipsbladet as saying: “He is very quiet and calm about everything, and is very sensible.
“We talked also around the table yesterday that although he scored against Feyenoord, he seems a player who took it very calmly. So even though he’s going to experience something wilder, he is still a quiet guy from Silkeborg… or wherever it is that he comes from.”
Eriksen, who is quiet guy from Middelfart, could probably write a book on Danish hype. Another player to have experienced similar is Viktor Fischer, now at Middlesbrough.
Fischer has also commented on the Dolberg hype, saying: “Christian (Eriksen) has been dubbed the new Michael Laudrup, I have been dubbed the new Michael Laudrup, and Kasper Dolberg has been dubbed the new Michael Laudrup. At the end of the day, it is all really uninteresting, and a good indication that there is no reason to listen to all that shit.”
