It didn’t take a genius to work out the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain would amplify the rumours of a move for Dele Alli.

The England international has been somewhat out of sorts under José Mourinho, who seems reluctant to trust him, and with claims the French club were keen on the player during Thomas Tuchel’s time in charge, the Argentine taking over was only going to make things more interesting.

Pochettino was the man in charge during Alli’s best form at Spurs, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that a club interested in a creative midfielder would make a player capable of both scoring and assisting their main target.

This is according to Téléfoot Chaîne’s Simone Rivera, who said on Wednesday night: “There is a priority in Paris, and it’s Dele Alli. The information we can give you tonight is that Dele Alli wants to go to Paris. He would be very happy to find his manager again.

“He is lacking game time at Tottenham. His relationship with José Mourinho isn’t great. The opportunity could arrive during this transfer window, but it needs to be a good one for Paris who, if they bring a player in, need to let one go, which can complicate the operation.”

He then went on to explain the touted three man merry go round involving Alli to PSG, Leandro Paredes to Inter and Christian Eriksen to Tottenham had seen itself slightly halted by the Italian side, meaning it could end up being someone else who leaves should the Spurs man move to France.

Either way, the big news here is that Alli wants the move, and now we have to wait and see if he’ll try to force it or not.
