Real Betis are hoping to close Giovani Lo Celso transfer for €75m as his sale would help the club raise the funds needed to sustain their sporting development, according to their local sport media.
Estadio Deportivo claims Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs who have shown ‘more interest’ in the Argentina international, and there’s been repeat contact.
It’s claimed the last contact between the two clubs took place a few days ago in a well-known restaurant on Calle Betis, on the banks of the Guadalquivir River.
The La Liga side met with intermediaries who are representing Tottenham in the transfer operation.
During the meeting, things didn’t come to a ‘definitive agreement’, with everything moving calmly.
However, the local Seville newspaper explains this aspect is ‘not entirely significant’ because ‘sources close to the transaction’ have told them the transfer is 80% there, making it sound quite likely.
Manchester United and Atletico Madrid interest is also mentioned, although it’s made very clear that Tottenham are out in front.
