Borja Iglesias left Celta Vigo and made a switch to Espanyol in the summer and since then he’s been in fine form for his new club.
The centre forward has netted six times and set up two goals for his teammates in 11 league appearances this season and his side are second in the table, three points behind league leaders Barcelona.
It is no surprise that his form for the Catalan outfit has attracted interest and according to El Gol Digital, Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs to have shown interest in the 25-year-old.
He has a release clause of €28m in his contract and the report claims the north London side are willing to pay his buyout clause in order to bring him to the club.
Should a club pay the full clause, it takes things out of Espanyol’s hands and a deal can be sealed.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side could push their own player, Fernando Llorente to Athletic Club Bilbao to accommodate a place for his compatriot.
If what’s mentioned in the report is true, Llorente can rejoin the Basque club and help Eduardo Berizzo improve their goalscoring form, while Iglesias could take his place in the Tottenham squad.
