Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit for Sporting duo Marcus Edwards and Pedro Porro gets two interesting stories from the Portuguese media today.

One of them comes from A Bola, where it’s said that Spurs will try those signings ‘during the whole window’, even though they already know the price for the transfers.

Sporting aren’t negotiating any of those players, so Tottenham must spend €75m on them.

That’s €30m for Edwards, who has a release clause of €60m but the London side have 50% of his rights, and other €45m for Porro’s.

A Bola says the players would even get a pay raise in case they stay with the Lions, but the problem is that Spurs can offer even more, so that’s not a big argument for the club to convince them to stay, especially because there’s more on the table if they do move to London.

Meanwhile, at O Jogo, it’s explained that Tottenham may not be able to sign both players, in case they only get one, then the choice of Antonio Conte has already been made. That’s Pedro Porro.

“Powerful, he gets involved in offensive actions, crosses well and scores goals. The imbalances it causes greatly please the manager of the Londoners. In addition, Emerson and Doherty, the fullbacks of the Tottenham squad, have not yet fully convinced the coach.”
says the outlet.

In Edwards’ case, Tottenham consider the price to be too high, besides the fact they already have other options for the position, meaning he’s not as much of a priority as the Spaniard.
