While Tottenham keep fighting for a spot in next season’s European football tournaments, the club are continuing their search for players who can improve them in the long run.
One of the names that we see regularly linked with Spurs is Mikkel Damsgaard, the young Dane forward who is enjoying a good season under Claudio Ranieri at Sampdoria.
Tottenham have been following him for quite some time now, with some going as far as stating the London club are ‘crazy’ about him.
Either way, the 20-year-old’s performances haven’t gone unnoticed both in England and around Europe, with FC Inter News claiming Inter scouts have been keeping an eye on him.
It’s said the Serie A club, alongside rivals Juventus, are ‘monitoring him carefully’, with their talent spotters taking in his performance against Napoli recently, while abroad, ‘Damsgaard is finding support in Tottenham and Leicester, who have sent their respective scouts to keep an eye on him’.
Sampdoria are, down their end, ‘in no hurry to sell’, with the player currently valued at €18m, although you would expect them to want a bit more than that to reach an agreement, meaning Spurs would have to be convincing.
That would see them make a tidy profit on their original €6.5m expenditure for a player that has surprised everyone, even those at the club where he is currently contracted.
