Earlier on Thursday, we covered an article in Gazzetta dello Sport about where some of the Serie A midfield starlets could end up next summer, and that included Nicolo Barella.
The young Cagliari player has been of interest to a number of Premier League sides, including Tottenham, who were given a 30% chance of acquiring his services in the future.
This came after a claim in the Italian press that Spurs had made an ‘in-depth’ enquiry about his situation, most likely told they’d have to wait until the end of the season, since that is the player’s wish.
That hasn’t stopped them from keeping an eye on him in the meantime, however, as TuttoMercatoWeb report a Tottenham scout was present in Genk to watch the 21-year-old represent his country for the fourth time.
Barella played 77 minutes of that game, coming off before his side scored the winning goal in their 1-0 victory in the 94th minute.
Once again, TuttoMercatoWeb state what has been said many times in the past: Cagliari will not listen to offers below €50m for their starlet.
This comes after claims Inter made a first bid of €30m, which was swiftly rejected.
