The Adrien Rabiot situation is getting as messy as many predictions suggested it could. With a contract expiring in June 2019, the midfielder can speak to interested clubs from January onwards, but there are multiple claims they’ve been doing that anyway.
Barcelona and Manchester City have been linked for some time, with claims of meetings and talks over a free transfer, and now Tottenham have been brought into the picture.
Paris United claim Spurs are one of a number of clubs to be in conversation with the player’s camp. Relationships at PSG are strained, and it’s a similar situation to the last time Rabiot extended his contract.
Back then it didn’t feel like he really wanted to, worried about not being prominent enough at the French club, but in the end he accepted assurances and it worked out relatively well.
Clubs approaching Rabiot, especially before January, are setting themselves up for a transfer war with PSG. The Ligue 1 champions have made it clear on repeat occasions that they’ll cause trouble for clubs who approach their players, and even target their stars as revenge.
That would be some transfer war, Daniel Levy versus PSG.
Juventus are also said to be keen.
