There are claims from the Netherlands on Monday that Tottenham Hotspur have taken a predicted route and signed Michel Vorm.

The goalkeeper left Spurs when his contract expired earlier this year, and hasn’t been able to find the right club yet.

NOS are reporting as a matter of fact that Vorm has signed with Tottenham, and has a deal with the Premier League club until the end of the current season.

After Hugo Lloris picked up a serious injury, dislocating his elbow, the return of Vorm always looked like a possibility, and had been discussed by fans and the media.

NOS explain Vorm has been ‘recalled’ by Tottenham as injury cover for the Frenchman, hence the short-term nature of the deal the Premier League club have given the Dutchman.

The 35 year old originally signed for Spurs in 2014 from Swansea City, having impressed repeatedly for the Welsh side. It was curious that no suitable clubs picked him up as a free agent, but it’s worked out well for Tottenham.
