Given the plethora of young talent emerging in Portugal at present, it’s no surprise that Premier League clubs are all scouting there regularly.
Barely a week goes by in which clubs from England are scouting a game in the country, and this week there were several at Boavista vs Benfica on Friday evening.
A Bola report that no fewer than four teams took in the game, which Benfica won 4-1 to move clear at the top of Liga Nos and chief among them were Tottenham.
The newspaper makes no mention of who Tottenham were there to scout, just that they had representatives at the game.
The obvious assumption is Rúben Dias, given that the young centre back has been linked heavily with a move to White Hart Lane since José Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino.
Spurs need a centre back, with Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld out of contract in the summer, and Mourinho is known to be a fan of the 22-year-old.
Left-back Álex Grimaldo is another they may have been looking at, with that another area Tottenham need to improve in and the 24-year-old impressing one again this season.
