Tottenham Hotspur will ‘return to charge’ for Juventus’ Weston McKennie in the winter market, according to Calciomercato.
Antonio Conte is looking for new players who will suit his ‘idea of football’ and has asked Fabio Paratici to find them.
It’s claimed Harry Winks and Tanguy Ndombele are ‘on the way out’, while Dele Alli is not included in the former Chelsea manager’s plans. With these players expected to move out, McKennie has become the ‘first name on the wish list’ of the Premier League side.
To secure his services, Spurs must ‘present the right offer’ to Juve, who cannot afford to ‘sell him for a discount’, especially when they are going through financial difficulties. The Turin club invested a fixed fee of €23m plus an additional €6.5m as potential bonuses in signing the American.
Massimiliano Allegri likes the 23-year-old and if it were up to him, he would prefer to retain the player. However, Juve clearly don’t view him as a non-transferable player and are ready to give a ‘green light’ for his sale, if they receive an ‘important offer’.
Calciomerato state the Italian club will need ‘at least’ €30-35m to let the midfielder leave.
Over at Tutto Juve, they also discuss Tottenham’s interest as they state Spurs are ‘ready to offer’ Allegri’s side a fee of around €25m for McKennie.
Juventus have no intention to sell him, but could be forced to let McKennie leave if they want to invest in a new striker and fail to sell any of their other fringe players in January.
