Tottenham Hotspur are now interested in FC Porto striker Mehdi Taremi, according to claims from Italy.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio writes that Spurs are currently in contact with the Dragons for the transfer.
It’s claimed that Tottenham are ‘ready’ to offer €24m for the striker, and that isn’t too far from Porto’s request, as they demand €30m.
Last season, Tahremi had 31 goals and 14 assists for Porto, and was the Portuguese league’s top striker.
That led to him being linked to a number of clubs this summer, including from the Premier League, and it had been rumoured that a move to Saudi Arabia was on the table as well.
Tottenham’s interest in Taremi was first reported by the Iranian media this week. The Portuguese media even echoed that, but are still to hear from Porto sources about the possibility of the move.
Spurs look for a potential replacement for Harry Kane, and Taremi can apparently be that man, arriving for a relatively cheap price.
