Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer outlook has taken a very Italian outlook since Fabio Paratici arrived at the club.
The director has a huge amount of experience in Serie A and knows the market, so it’s no surprise that many of Spurs targets are to be found there. Having already made two signings from the country, Tottenham are being linked with several more, and one of those is Sampdoria’s Mikkel Damsgaard.
The 21-year-old scored twice and assisted four times in 37 matches for the Genoa club last season. Those may not seem like great statistics, yet Damsgaard’s performances at Euro 2020 left no doubt about the youngster’s potential.
Tottenham have been repeatedly linked, and Friday’s edition of La Republicca reports Spurs are ‘preparing an offer’ to sign the player, with Paratici behind it all. They face competition from Leeds United, although it’s Nuno Espirito Santo’s side who are pushed out in front.
Sampdoria aren’t keen to sell any of their key players, but their financial situation means that cutbacks will be needed elsewhere if there’s not a big sale this summer.
That suggests Tottenham will be able to find a deal should they push hard for Damsgaard.
