It’s now reports from Italy that say Lucas Moura could leave Tottenham Hotspur on deadline day.
Writing that the player is not part of Antonio Conte’s plans for the season, TuttoMercatoWeb claims that there are a couple of possibilities for the Brazilian in the Premier League.
According to their story, Moura is ‘in the sights’ of Aston Villa and Newcastle United, with both clubs having asked Tottenham about a potential loan.
For now, there’s no information on whether Spurs are keen on making a deal with those clubs, and it also isn’t mentioned if the player himself would like to join them.
Earlier this week, we covered reports from the Turkish media which said Galatasaray had been working to land the Brazilian as well, and today, Fanatik claimed the talks ‘reached an important stage’.
So we now wait and see if there’s still time for Aston Villa and Newcastle to win the race for the player, who could choose to stay in the Premier League instead of moving to a new country.
Lucas Moura has a total of only 12 minutes played this season, as Antonio Conte brought him to the pitch in the final minutes of the two first games in the Premier League against Southampton and Chelsea.
However, in the last couple of matches, he didn’t even make the bench.
Since Aston Villa and Newcastle could probably offer him more playing time, those could be interesting destinations for him.
