On July 5th, De Telegraaf reported Tottenham Hotspur have agreed the sale of Steven Bergwijn to Ajax.
It was also explained the forward was set to travel on Wednesday to undergo medical tests with the Eredivisie winners.
Another fresh report from De Telegraaf gives more information on the 24-year-old’s move to Ajax.
The Netherlands international was seen stepping outside the Amsterdam UMC [hospital], just after 9am local time, and a security guard was pictured taking a selfie with the player. It’s claimed the former PSV Eindhoven man’s medical started at 8am.
Antonio Conte’s man had a ‘visibly relieved expression’, say De Telegraaf, and he was accompanied by his agents.
After Ajax and Tottenham exchanged emails back and forth to finalise the agreement, only the medical stood in the Dutchman’s way to complete his Ajax move.

De Telegraaf state Bergwijn, along with his representatives, has now travelled to the Amsterdam ArenA, where other aspects of the transfer will be finalised.
Ajax’s media team are also doing the necessary recordings to announce the attacker’s transfer.
With two clubs agreeing terms for the transfer and Bergwijn finishing [at least part of] his medical, it won’t be long before the player leaves Tottenham and completes a move to Ajax.
