Expected to be out until the new year, Hugo Lloris is currently recovering from a dislocated elbow suffered in Tottenham’s 3-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion a few weeks ago.

Currently using Paulo Gazzaniga between the sticks and re-signing Michael Vorm after releasing him at the end of last season, Spurs are biding their time patiently until the Frenchman returns.

However, there’s also an interesting story in TuttoMercatoWeb on Wednesday about the current situation of Gianluigi Donnarumma and whether or not Milan should sell in January if they can.

They state the biggest problem for the Serie A side is finding a buyer willing to put money on the table (the hope is €60m, but €40-45m is more realistic next summer) as ‘all the big names are in place except at Tottenham after Lloris’ injury’.

This is followed by an explanation that a move to Spurs, ‘does not warm Donnarumma’s heart’ as the club has returned to being a ‘second-tier’ one despite playing the Champions League final just a few months ago.

As for Lloris in all this, he would ‘not accept’ Milan, and TuttoMercatoWeb add ‘even if there were contacts in this sense’.

So it seems that someone at Milan has toyed with the idea of bringing in the Tottenham goalkeeper to replace Donnarumma should he leave, while the idea of moving to London has been put to the young Italian.
