With Bayern Munich officials travelling on Monday to London to hold a meeting with Daniel Levy as they try and buy Harry Kane from Tottenham, it’s only fair for Spurs to have planned a list of potential replacements.
Many names have been linked with the London club, but Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy claim there is one currently standing out above all.
That man is Jonathan David, as the newspaper look at the potential dance of strikers that will likely take place if the England international does end up leaving Tottenham.
It’s stated the Canada international is ‘followed’ by Spurs, who have reportedly put the 23-yearold at the ‘top of their list’ to take over from Kane.
Napoli were after him but they aren’t going to sell Victor Osimhen just yet, while Paris Saint-Germain are also keeping an eye on him after missing out on Rasmus Højlund.
In fact, it’s that last deal that is cause for concern for many of the teams involved in the pursuit of David, including Inter Milan, because Gazzetta state ‘there are those who say’ that the deal struck by Atalanta for the Dane ‘will end up causing the costs of others to rise as well’.
Right now, it’s said that he is valued by the French club at €50m with that price potentially falling to €40m in August, but considering they have a history of finding great deals for their star players (see Osimhen and Nicolas Pépé), that seems rather low.
Especially if Tottenham turn up with everyone knowing they have €100m in their bank from the Kane sale.
