Each Monday, Gazzetta dello Sport release their European Team of the Week, and more often than not there’s several stars from the Premier League in there.
This time, only one man gets a mention, and it’s no surprise to see Harry Kane is the one picked out. Kane put in another good performance on Sunday as Spurs pushed Liverpool aside to win 4-1 at Wembley.
Kane scored twice for Tottenham, and also managed to add an assist, showing once again how important he is for Mauricio Pochettino’s team.
Coming off late in the match, clearly feeling pain around the hamstring area, there was immediately worry about Kane and his involvement in upcoming matches. Pochettino has moved to calm those fears, insisting there’s no issue, but Kane clearly felt something and Spurs will have some level of worry.
Joining the Tottenham and England star in Gazzetta’s eleven this week are players including Memphis Depay, who scored a hat-trick for Lyon, and Thomas Lemar, who found some form for Monaco after a poor few weeks.
