As Tottenham Hotspur are searching for a centre-back in the January transfer window, reports from France say they picked out a favourite name from their list.

Ignazio Genuardi writes that Spurs currently ‘favour the track’ leading to OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo.

It’s claimed that according to an ‘English source’, Tottenham already have an agreement with the Ligue 1 side for the transfer.

For now, there are no details on the price agreed between the clubs, or what is missing for the deal to be concluded, as that could be the green light from the player.

Genuardi just makes it clear that Tottenham haven’t been alone in the race for Todibo, as Manchester United, ‘in particular’, also have the player on their shortlist.

Spurs’ chase for the 23-year-old isn’t something new, as he’s been linked to Premier League clubs for quite a few months.

Transfermarkt currently value Todibo at €35m, and we shall see how much Nice have been demanding for his departure, especially because we’d be talking about a January transfer window move, which is usually more expensive.
